FAQ
What should I wear?
Brunch Cruises: We call it California Casual. Attire such as khaki pants and a collared shirt are just fine. You may find that some guests are dressed more formally, especially those celebrating special occasions, however attire varies from comfortable shorts to the more formal. Bring along a light jacket or wrap as it may get a bit breezy on the decks.
What time do I board the ship?
Brunch cruises board 30 minutes prior to departure time.
Where will I park?
Due to the popularity of the San Diego Bay we recommend allowing a little extra time for parking. We suggest the following lots, which are available on a first come, first served basis: Cruise Ship Terminal Lot OR Five Star Parking Lot located on the corner of Pacific Coast Hwy. & Broadway: $7.00 per car, per day. There are also metered spots directly across from our Ticket Booth. They are .25 per 15 minutes with a 3-hour maximum. These meters are free after 6pm and on Sundays.
What happens if it rains?
San Diego is fortunate enough to rarely get rain or inclement weather and our Bay is very calm and peaceful. Hornblower sails rain or shine. In the very rare case of severe weather conditions or upon the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard, we will remain dockside.
What kind of entertainment is on board?
Brunch Cruises offer a relaxing selection of background music.
If my party is not able to make it or we miss the ship will we receive a refund?
Once payment is received cruises are non-refundable.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is allowed on the outside decks only.
Can we bring our own decorations?
Small groups without private space can bring table decorations. Unfortunately, an early boarding is not available.
Can I bring a cake or flowers on board?
Cakes may be brought on board, however you will be charged a $1.50 per person cake cutting fee. Small flower bouquets are also permitted. Please keep in mind you are on a ship, so top heavy arrangements will not be stable.
Are vegetarian or other special menu requests available?
Yes, we offer a wonderful vegetarian option. Just let your reservationist know at time of booking. We can also accommodate most other special dietary needs with advance notice. Again, please be sure to ask your reservationist.
Are there any age restrictions on the cruises?
All ages are welcome. Minors do require supervision.
Is the ship handicap accessible?
We do have accessible yachts in our fleet. Please call to check handicap accessibility for the date you are planning to cruise.
Are there life preservers on board?
Each vessel is 100% Coast Guard certified with life preservers and all life saving equipment, including child life vests.
Is there a phone on board that receives calls?
We do not have phone service on board. Most cellular services are available on the water as we do not cruise too far off shore (except for whale watching).
Can we meet the Captain and visit the wheelhouse?
Yes. Guests are welcome to come and meet the Captain and the First Mate.
Is there pre-assigned seating?
Yes, our event manager assigns the seating based on needs and capacity for each cruise.
